Emil Nikolov

Mr Nikolov has more than 13 years of experience in building and managing telecommunications companies in Central Europe, Eastern Europe and Africa.

In 1998 Mr Nikolov co-founded Nexcom Telecommunications LLC, a US holding company that owns and operates alternative competitive telcos throughout Central and Eastern Europe. He was instrumental in driving Nexcom’s 10 country network in CEE to success. In 2002 Nexcom sold its wholesale operations to ITXC, a NASDAQ-traded, US based voice carrier, which was subsequently sold to Teleglobe and VSNL. As of 2004 Mr. Nikolov oversees Nexcom’s WiMAX strategy and deployments in the region. In 2006 Nexcom was the first company to launch a fully commercial national WiMAX network in Eastern Europe (Bulgaria), covering more than 70% of the country.

In 2000 Mr Nikolov started Eyebill - a telecom billing software company and Hermesphone a telecom operator providing retail telecom service to Eastern European minorities in the US, UK and Canada.

In 2007 Mr. Nikolov started a new WiMAX focused venture – Clearstream Holdings Limited. The Company currently owns WiMAX spectrum valued at more than 100 million USD in 7 countries in Europe, Africa and Asia.

Mr. Nikolov is a frequent featured speaker at various WiMAX telecom shows and events.
