Mohammad Hussain

Mohammad Hussain has been the Director of Access/Device Development and Backhaul for the past two years. In this role, Mohammad has been responsible for leading technology development in Access Technologies, Device/Chipset Development, and Backhaul. His focus has been to bring WiMAX technology and ecosystem to realization by working with the WiMAX Forum, managing on behalf of Sprint, base station and antenna development and integration through technical specification and vendor compliance, interoperability of devices and infrastructure equipment, radio access network validation and performance across all Sprint vendors, and finally the development of chipsets and devices for XOHM compliance and certification.

Prior to this role, Mohammad was responsible for leading a WiMAX Business Unit-wide Request for Proposal that spanned across various departments and had a matrix organization supporting him. Mohammad also led his team in the technology evaluation, selection and planning of Sprint Nextel’s next generation wireless network while actively supporting and promoting the 4G ecosystem development globally. Mohammad held various other positions within Sprint ranging from Sr. Director of Backhaul to Sr. Director of Enhanced Services responsible for all wireless and wire-line service integration and certification.

Prior to his work at Sprint, Mohammad was the Director of Test and Integration at Globalstar, a Satellite communications company and was stationed in Saudi Arabia for couple of years to design, develop, and deploy a Globalstar gateway.

Mohammad has over 19+ years of experience in the telecommunications industry. He holds a Masters Degree in Engineering Management and a BSEE degree in Telecommunications from University of Texas. He also has an Associate degree in Applied Math and Science. Mohammad has written many technical papers and holds several patents.
